Greater Tulsa Association of REALTORS® (GTAR)

While not part of the REALTOR® associations, OREC plays a crucial role as the state agency responsible for:

Member Types
Unlicensed Assistant
- Cannot hold an active real estate or appraiser license
- Must notify GTAR if you obtain your license
REALTOR-ASSOCIATE®
- Most common membership type
- Eligible for committee participation
REALTOR®
- Voting member of the Association
- Required membership type to open a brokerage
- Eligible for committees and director positions
MLS Only
- Must be a member of a REALTOR® Association elsewhere
- Limited access to additional MLS benefits
- Limited committee eligibility
Updating Your Membership Information
It’s crucial to keep your membership information current.
Please contact our Membership team immediately for the following changes:
- Personal contact information (phone, email, address)
- License changes (lapsed, inactive, obtained new license)
- Changes in brokerage
- OREC licensing updates

SentriLock Keybox Information
Access properties and secure your listings with our electronic lockbox system.

SentriLock Service
- Service Fee: $35.25 per quarter (billed with quarterly dues)
- Requirements: SentriKey Agreement filled out and signed by broker
- Mobile Access: Download the SentriKey app for on-the-go access
Keybox Options
- Lease Option:
- $12 per quarter
- $144 total after 3 years
- Can be returned any time (must be free of damage, paint, and markings)
- Purchase Option:
- $135.65 (tax included)
- One-time purchase
- Transferring keyboxes
- Adding people to teams

- Reporting lost/stolen/damaged keyboxes

GTAR Education

NAR Requirements for Membership
Cycle 8: January 1, 2025 – December 31, 2027
NAR requires all members to complete the following courses:
- Code of Ethics (3 hours)
- Fair Housing (3 hours)
These courses follow the same three-year cycle for all members and are offered through GTAR, NAR, and our online partners.

OREC CE Requirements
Starting June 1, 2025
NEW Total CE Hours: 30 hours every three years
Required Coursework:
- One hour in each of the following:
- Broker Relationship Act
- Code and Rules
- Fair Housing
- Hot Topic
- Professional Conduct (Code of Ethics)
- Six (6) hours in Contracts and Forms
- The remaining 17 hours can be completed in elective or required categories

Get Involved: Committees & Advocacy
Shape the future of real estate by engaging with your professional community.
Committee Participation
Join a GTAR committee to network with peers, share your expertise, and help guide the association’s initiatives.
September-October
Application window opens the first week of September until the end of October.
November
Applications are collected and submitted to the board for approval.
December
Approved applicants are notified of committee assignments.
January 1
New committee terms begin for the following year.
Note: Committee applications are only accepted during the designated timeframe. Plan ahead to get involved!

Government Affairs
The REALTOR® association is one of the largest and strongest advocacy organizations in the United States.
Advocacy Levels
- National: Federal advocacy in Congress
- State: Advocacy in the Oklahoma legislature
- Local: County and municipal level advocacy
RPAC – The “Purple Party”
The REALTOR® Political Action Committee (RPAC) supports pro-real estate candidates regardless of party affiliation.
- Your annual “fair share” contribution: $20
- Major Investor options available ($1,000+)
